Ryan Yost has been involved in health care in some way since he was a teenager. He began as a volunteer firefighter/EMT, then completed his education in health care and moved into a career in trauma care, then emergency services, in which he continues to work.

All of this laid the perfect foundation for creating his Greencastle-based company, American Safety CPR and First Aid, primarily serving Franklin County and other parts of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia.

“I felt inspired to create a company in which I could educate the community on critical life-saving skills,” shared Yost. “While helping my wife respond to some new Pennsylvania state requirements for her business, I got the idea that I could help so many more people and businesses learn CPR and first aid.”

“We provide training where and when it is needed,” said Yost. “We have done training at our facility and at various businesses and organizations in the community. In addition to CPR and first aid training, we also provide babysitting training and certification, which is unique because we also help the kids look at the business aspect of it and how to manage the money they make in their babysitting business.”

Whether training and certifications are needed to meet business requirements, or someone just wants it for their own benefit, American Safety CPR and First Aid can help. In addition to the education services, first aid staffing for events is also available.

American Safety CPR and First Aid administrative office is located at 12241 Carol Avenue, Greencastle, and is available 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. seven days per week at 717-494-9461. To view or register for available individual classes, visit American Safety CPR and First Aid, contact by phone or find them on Facebook. Additionally, businesses or groups of four or more individuals looking for a private class can reach out directly through the website or phone.

“We are proud to provide education and services that save lives,” said Yost.
