Talk to ghosts. A Haunted Objects Paranormal Investigation will be held today, Feb. 17, from 8 to 11 p.m. at James and Jess’ House of Goods. As quaint as they seem, antique stores are notorious little nooks for paranormal activity because of energy attached to memory-laden items that once meant a great deal to their owners. Cost is $40. Reservations are required by calling 717-521-7465.

Meet local businesses. Visit downtown businesses and services in a one-stop shop Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce Business Expo at the Waynesboro Area Senior High School. The event includes information tables, demonstrations and activities. Admission is free.

Shop for deals. An indoor yard sale will be held at Ft. Ritchie Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 60 families and individuals will have a variety of yard sale items available for purchase.

Count your chickadees. The annual Backyard Bird Count happens around the world this weekend. For four days—Feb. 17-20—you can decide where you will watch birds, the watch them for 15 minutes or more and identify all the birds you see or hear and share your results to help scientists better understand bird populations and migrations. For more information, visit www.birdcount.org.

Take a hike. A winter hike will be held at Gettysburg National Military Park on Sunday, Feb. 19, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the amphitheater on West Confederate Avenue. You can walk/hike 2.0 miles over a few rolling hills—or more.
