GREENCASTLE–United Way of Franklin County and United Way of Washington County joined forces to fight food insecurities in our local community.

The United Against Hunger fund was created to give greater access to free food, healthy
options, food deliveries, food resources, and more.

The VerStandig family including VerStandig Media, Ledo Pizza Chambersburg and The VerStandig Law Firm challenged a matching gift dollar-for-dollar. With combined efforts, the VerStandig family has matched $60,000 to be split between Franklin and Washington County.

“We are appreciative of the fundraising efforts from the community and the opportunity to help United Way serve more residents,” said Blake Truman, GM of VerStandig Media.

Donations will be collected through the end of the year with an end goal of $100,000 raised and $100,000 matched from the VerStandig family. All proceeds from United Against Hunger will stay local.
