Be bewitched. The Waynesboro Theatre will show “Hocus Pocus” (PG-1:27) this weekend. The film, starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker, tells the tale of a curious kid who moves to Salem where he struggles to fit in before awakening a trio of witches that were executed in the 17th century.
Take home a misfit. Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro will host a Misfit Pottery Sale Saturday at 9 a.m. at the studio, 13 S. Church St. The event will offer discounted handmade pottery that has some imperfections, but is still beautiful and useful.
Get outdoors. A Fall Outdoor Extravaganza will be held Friday, Sept. 30 thru Saturday, Oct. 1, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Chambersburg Rod & Gun Club, 3725 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg. This free family-centered event will include education on hunting, fishing, shooting, kids games and fun for the family.
Join the Apple Dumpling Gang. The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum will host the Apple Dumpling Festival Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro. Dumplings will be available at the country store. Add a scoop of ice cream from the Antietam Dairy Ice Cream truck. The Farm Equipment Museum will have exhibits of early orchard processing equipment and tools on display. Music in front of the Country Store by Forever Young Music Ministry.
