HARRISBURG — UPMC in Central Pa. is hiring for clinical and non-clinical positions across the region in an event designed specifically for veterans and active military personnel and their families. The UPMC in Central Pa. Pathways for Veterans hiring event on Thursday, Aug. 18, will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on City Island at FNB Field, 245 Championship Way, Harrisburg.

“UPMC is committed to supporting veterans who are making the transition to a civilian career after military service,” said Marc Migala, director of Veteran Care Services for UPMC in Central Pa. “For those who are still active duty, UPMC is also a DoD SkillBridge partner.”

The hiring event will offer participants information about available positions and benefits within UPMC as well as resume and application assistance. On-site interviews will also be available that could lead to a conditional job offer.

“In addition to the qualifications that make them good candidates for careers in health care, veterans have unique life experiences and skills that set them apart,” Migala said. “UPMC is an organization that respects and values those qualities that can only be learned — and earned — through service. That is why we have created this event just for veterans and their families.”

From clinical fields, such as nursingrespiratory therapy, imaging and pharmacy, to patient-facing non-clinical roles, like security, food services, housekeeping services and facility management, to behind-the-scenes support services, like health plan services, human resources and information technology, UPMC offers opportunities for all career seekers.

UPMC continues to build its inclusive and accommodating culture, which prioritizes the well-being of its team with workplace flexibility, remote careers, and more. Employees receive a strong benefits package designed to meet their physical, financial and emotional needs. UPMC also offers competitive compensation for all employees and sign-on bonuses for eligible positions.

Attendees are encouraged to ‘come as you are,’ recognizing that they may be coming from work or needing to bring family members. Masks are encouraged to prevent transmission of COVID-19 and will be provided for those who need one. Light refreshments will also be available.

Pre-registration for the hiring event is recommended but not required.
