WAYNESBORO—The United Way of Franklin County PA and The United Way of Washington County MD are uniting to fight food insecurity in Franklin and Washington counties through a fundraising challenge.
The communities have been challenged to raise $100,000 to help fight hunger in both counties. Any contributions from the community toward the $100,000 goal will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, with a gift from the VerStandig family.
The United Against Hunger fund will give greater access to local food programs offering free food, healthy options, meal deliveries, food resources and more. All money raised will stay in the local counties.
Businesses are invited to the challenge and help fight hunger through a corporate contribution, with 100% of the gift benefitting local food programs.
Donations may be made online through Aug. 11, 2022.
