Join the invasion. The Monster Truck Invasion series comes to Hagerstown Speedway for the first time with 10 Monster trucks battling it out Friday. Gates open at 5 p.m.; event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available in advance.

Meet an author. Morgan Faith, author of “Having a Heart for Jesus,” will host a book talk and signing Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Clear Spring Library, 12624 Broadfording Road, Clear Spring, Md.

Go on the hunt. A video scavenger hunt for youth and families sponsored by First A/G Greencastle Youth will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at 1st Assembly of God, 525 Leitersburg St., Greencastle. Teams will take an adventure through Antrim Township Park completing a variety of challenges, video taping each one for evidence. Games and pizza will follow at the church.

Take to the skies. Take a ride on a tethered hot air balloon Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. during the Re/MAX 5-year anniversary hot air balloon event at Shady Grove Community Center. The event includes kids’ face painting, candy scramble, and Kona Ice Truck.

Scope out cars, meet responders. Mason Dixon Modified Car Club is hosting an event Saturday at 6 p.m. at Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue Co. 4. The evening will offer burgers, dogs and drinks, plus autos. BRFD will also be having drawings for those 18 and older. Show your local Volunteer Fire Dept. some love and stop out and see some cars and grab a bite to eat.
