Police looking for suspect in lunchtime attempted robbery

WAYNESBORO—Waynesboro Police are seeking information on an attempted robbery yesterday, Thursday, April 21.

Officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to a reported attempted armed robbery at 44 W Main St. in the borough.

According to police, the business proprietor reported an individual entered the business, produced a large knife and demanded money.

The proprietor drew a concealed handgun and held it to his side at which time the subject fled east on Main and south into an alley toward Gay Street.

Police said the subject is described as a Hispanic male, medium build, 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8 inches tall and approximately 40 years of age and wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and a dark-colored neck gaiter, partially concealing his face.
