CHAMBERSBURG—The Chambersburg Ballet will present its inaugural Dance-a-thon on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wilson College’s Laird Hall.
Students and company dancers will perform a total of 24 pieces ranging from classical to modern styles, featuring solos, ensembles and pas de deuxes.
Each piece has been choreographed by students of the Chambersburg Ballet Theatre School or by trainees or dancers of its affiliated performing company, The Chambersburg Ballet.
Friends, family and the public are invited to drop-in or stay for the entire event to see these young dancers express their creativity and energy through dance.
Dance-a-thon is open and free to the public from 2 to 5 p.m. To see a list of the performances and dancers, click here.
Dance-a-thon is a fundraiser for the Chambersburg Ballet Guild, a 501-c 3 nonprofit that supports the Chambersburg Ballet, and is being sponsored by Wilson College.
Students will be raising funds online using a crowdsource platform called givebutter.
Donations can be made online at https://givebutter.com/l9LORo.
By supporting the Dance-a-thon you are helping to keep the Chambersburg Ballet affordable and accessible to both dancers and audience members alike. Ticket sales and tuition cover approximately half of production expenses, and your support is needed in order to keep ticket prices affordable and the arts available to as many as possible.
The Chambersburg Ballet puts on several performance runs throughout the year, including “The Nutcracker,” an IceFest production, and a spring performance.
