SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. –The Shippensburg University lacrosse team suffered a heartbreaking loss in overtime to Bloomsburg on Tuesday, falling 12-11 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action at Robb Sports Complex.
Shippensburg (2-5, 0-3 PSAC East) and Bloomsburg (6-1, 3-0) were nip and tuck the entire way in a game that featured eight ties and four lead changes. SU held an 11-10 lead entering the final minute of play.
With 12 seconds remaining, Bloomsburg goalkeeper Lauren Foley made a save on a free-position shot and passed it to Erika Biehl, who flung the ball down the field in desperation. Kate Roberts ended up collecting the Hail Mary and fired a shot that went into the goal with the time siren sounding. The officials ruled that the shot came before time had expired, sending the game into overtime. The Huskies caged the game winner 1:16 into the extra session.
SU was strongest in the second quarter, scoring five times to take a 9-6 lead into the intermission. The Raiders committed a season-low 13 turnovers, including just three in the first half, and had a 14-11 edge in draw controls.

Seifried’s six goals tied her career high set in 2020 at Lock Haven, while her eight draw controls mark the fourth time this season that she has had seven or more draw controls in a game.
