CHAMBERSBURG – The Franklin County Commissioners are accepting applications for the 2022 Franklin County Nursing Scholarship.
The scholarship program provides financial assistance to Franklin County high school seniors who have been accepted into an accredited four-year nursing program. Six one-time scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to local students.
Applicants must submit an essay, briefly indicating short- and long-term goals pertaining to nursing school, along with a scholarship application, an official high school transcript and three letters of reference, including one from their high school guidance counselor. Students must also have a minimum 2.5 GPA, participate in both extracurricular and community service activities, and demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship.
Scholarship instructions and applications are available from area high school guidance counselors as well as online at www.franklincountypa.gov. All applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. March 24.
Recipients will be determined by a committee of local healthcare professionals and Franklin County representatives. Winners will be announced during their schools’ scholarship ceremonies and will also be recognized during a Franklin County Commissioners’ meeting.
