ROUZERVILLE–Lights and sirens headed to the Waynesboro Walmart recently, but not for an emergency call. This time, Washington Township Police Association members, Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue Company 4 members, Walmart associates and volunteer elves hosted Shop with a Cop 2021.

This year, with a generous donation from Walmart, the Washington Township Police Association was able to host 14 kids who reside in the township for an evening of shopping, gift-wrapping , refreshments and memory making.

“This event takes a village and on this Saturday night, the village brought their best smiles, elf hats and big hearts out to make this event successful and a night to remember for these kids,” said Cindy Broas, Washington Township Police Department office manager.

Broas said the department would like to thank Walmart, Dairy Queen and Little Caesars for their contributions to this event.
