Just call them the Elite Eight.
The youth soccer season is hurtling toward its final whistle, and with just a handful of games remaining, we’ve counted eight squads who have won or currently lead their respective divisions.
In the United Recreational Soccer League, three Waynesboro teams — the Maidens (7-0-1 in 78-11 Girls White), Warriors (7-0-1 in 56 Co-Ed Red), and Boro United (8-0 in 56 Girls White) — have locked up division championships. The Fairfield Youth Soccer Club also claimed a title, with the Knights posting an 8-0 record in the 56 Co-Ed White division.
The URSL will conclude the 2025 campaign this weekend when it hosts its season-ending tournament.
In Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League play, three teams from the Chambersburg-based Union Soccer Club could be wearing division crowns by the end of the weekend. At 7-0, the U11 boys Havoc have already clinched a Division 2 title, while the U12 girls Mambas (5-1-1) need to win or tie their game this weekend to guarantee an outright championship in Division 4. The U14 girls Eclipse (5-1-2) are tied for the Division 1 lead, but need a loss this weekend from the MCUSC Penn United Dash to keep a share of the crown.
Another CPYSL title was won by Greencastle United Soccer Club’s U15 girls Destroyers, who posted a 6-1-1 record to finish as Division 1 co-champions.
