You can’t argue with the numbers, it’s been yet another sharp season on the pitch for the Union Soccer Club.
The USC, based in Chambersburg, has secured six Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League (CPYSL) division titles and is closing in on a seventh.
Four USC boys teams — the U11 Havoc (7-1), U11 Raiders (7-0-1), U13 Ninjas (6-1-1) and U14 Lightning (7-0) — have sealed up division titles, while another squad, the U13 United, leads Division 1 with a 7-0 record and has outscored opponents 37-6 in the process.
The USC’s U9 Tornadoes and U11 Wildfire, both girls teams, cruised to division titles with identical 5-1-2 records.
Greencastle United Soccer Club also has two big reasons to celebrate the CPYSL season. That’s because the GUSC U11 Dream, a girls squad, has tied for the Division 4-West title with a 6-2 record, and the U10 Hammer leads the Division 3-South boys race with a 7-0 record.
The United Recreational Soccer League (URSL) wrapped up its regular season last weekend, with three area teams sewing up division titles. Waynesboro Gold conquered the High School Varsity Co-Ed Red Division with a 7-1 record, while the Waynesboro Warriors posted a 6-0 mark to win a title in 56 Co-Ed Red. Smithsburg Youth Athletic’s Smith squad finishes its regular season in a tie for first after playing to a 6-1-1 record this spring.
The URSL will host its end-of-season tournament this weekend.
