HARRISBURG, Pa. — As the PIAA 5A baseball championship game is played Friday in State College, two people who will be watching the Greencastle-Antrim and DuBois Area matchup closely are the state representatives from the respective schools’ regions.
Rep. Chad Reichard, R-Franklin, donned a Greencastle baseball shirt at the state Capitol on Wednesday. While there, he and Rep. Mike Armanini, R-Elk/Clearfield, agreed to a friendly wager.
“Greencastle, we’ve had some really good ball players over the years,” Reichard said to Armanini. “I’ve got some Mama K’s sticky buns down in Greencastle; best you’ll ever have. I’m not going to have to pay up on this one, but if you win, I’ll get you a tray of Mama K’s sticky buns.”
Armanini pledged to bring Scott’s Donuts from DuBois if Greencastle wins the title game.
The lawmakers also added a $100 donation to a local food bank as part of the agreement.
The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils play the DuBois Area Beavers at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Penn State’s Medlar Field.
