Mrs. Shirley M. (Scott) Monn, 78, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 9, 1947 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late John U. and Helen D. (Downin) Scott. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
She and her husband of over 60 years, W. Lawrence “Larry” Monn, were married on July 24, 1965 in Hagerstown, MD.
Shirley worked at Gus and Ted’s, Waynesboro, as a bartender and cook for over 20 years. She also worked at Borden Food, Chambersburg, PA, for a few years and Mountain Gate Family Restaurant, Waynesboro for over 22 years.
She was a member of the Wayne Heights Brethren Church in Waynesboro the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1562 Ladies Auxiliary, Gettysburg, PA.
Shirley enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, J.D. Monn (Angela) of Waynesboro and Melissa Hockenberry (Roger) of Windsor, VA; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A public viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, June 15, 2026, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will be private.
