The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging hosted a Thanksgiving celebration, serving 630 meals across eight senior centers in the area. This event aimed to honor and express gratitude for the county’s seniors, ensuring that their hearts—and bellies—were full during the holiday season.
Tawnya Hurley, the director of the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging, commended the efforts of senior center coordinators, food service workers and numerous volunteers who made this large-scale meal service possible. “We are thankful for our seniors,” Hurley said, highlighting the community’s commitment to supporting its older residents.
The initiative not only provided a festive meal but also fostered a sense of community among attendees, reinforcing the importance of social connections during the holiday season. The agency continues to prioritize the well-being of seniors in Franklin County through various programs and services aimed at enhancing their quality of life.
