Schemel Celebrated as House Service Draws to Close

GREENCASTLE – Government and business leaders joined with Rep. Paul Schemel’s constituents Tuesday, Nov. 19, at a surprise party wishing the 90th District’s legislator well as he concludes his time in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

First elected in 2014, Schemel, R-Franklin, intends to return to his law firm, Dick, Stein, Schemel, Wine & Frey LLC, when his term ends Nov. 30. He did not seek re-election in 2024.

Rep.-elect Chad Reichard was among attendees at the party hosted in the Antrim Township Municipal Building. Also in attendance were Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin) and Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-Adams/Franklin) as well as Nancy Bull, constituent services director for U.S. Rep. John Joyce, R-13.

Schemel previously served on the Greencastle Borough Council and spent a year in Iraq with the U.S. State Department as an adviser on local government. He is active in Greencastle’s Boy Scout Troop 99 and St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. He and his wife, Lucy, have six children and one grandchild.
