CHAMBERSBURG – The Chambersburg Memorial YMCA recently received $2,000 raised from the Third Annual Rally in the Valley Pickleball Tournament hosted by the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce.
The October event brought together nearly 100 pickleball enthusiasts of all ages from multiple states for two days of doubles competition with categories for men, women and mixed teams in the under-60 and over-60 divisions.
“We are proud to host this tournament that supports friendly competition, wellness and ultimately supports the YMCA,” said Angela Schaeffer, director of operations for the Chambersburg Chamber.
The Rally in the Valley tournament draws players from across the region to showcase their skills and enjoy the growing sport of pickleball. Proceeds from the event help further the YMCA’s mission of promoting healthy living, youth development and socialresponsibility.
Next year’s tournament will once again be held at the Chambersburg YMCA, on Oct. 10-11, 2025. Chamber officials thanked sponsors, participants and volunteers who made the tournament a success, with a special to Carla Christian, Ben Pessah-Berlin and Patty Stevens for their service on the steering committee.
