WAYNESBORO – Keystone Pediatrics in Waynesboro has announced the addition of Jane Shughart, PA-C, to their medical team. Shughart brings more than 30 years of experience in family medicine to her new role as a pediatric physician assistant.
A native of Mercersburg, Shughart earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Francis University in 1992.
Shughart’s decision to pursue a career as a physician assistant was inspired by her high school biology teacher, who introduced her to the profession. She has practiced family medicine since 1992, caring for patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
When asked about her favorite aspect of pediatrics, Shughart noted that pediatric patients are “fun and can make you laugh.” She was drawn to Keystone Health for its family atmosphere and caring administrative staff.
Outside of work, Shughart is focused on raising her two youngest children, ages 3 and 4, whom she and her husband adopted as newborns. She is also the mother of two biological children and three stepchildren, ranging in age from 21 to 28.
