CHAMBERSBURG – Officials with the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation are pleased to announce a $20,000 commitment from Starr Insurance in Educational Improvement Tax Credit funds.

The contribution will support the Chamber Foundation’s Technology Innovation Challenge Grants, a program designed to enhance students’ education using technology in Franklin County’s public schools. Through this funding, educators teaching from kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to develop and implement unique technology-based initiatives that inspire students, foster critical skills and prepare them for the evolving digital landscape.

Since its inception in 1999, the Technology Innovation Challenge Grants program has funded more than $487,000 in technology projects across the region, equipping classrooms with innovative tools and learning opportunities. From STEM labs to interactive digital learning experiences, the grants aim to bridge the gap between traditional and modern education, enriching the academic experience for hundreds of students annually.

“The impact of Starr Insurance’s commitment is far-reaching,” said Virginia Harriger, executive director of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation. “This funding will empower our teachers to dream big for their students and bring advanced technology programs into their classrooms. This community support is helping us to shape the future workforce of Franklin County and prepare them with the skills they need to be successful.”

The Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation, founded in 1990, is a 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to leadership, citizenship and workforce development. The Foundation provides a mechanism to establish, administer and finance programs to meet the community’s crucial and changing needs in line with the goals of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce.
