Waynesboro achieved a decisive victory over Fairfield with a score of 3-0 in a recent match. This event coincided with the recognition of the girls’ field hockey team on Tuesday, Oct. 15, which also marked senior night. The occasion celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1974-75 undefeated field hockey team, honoring its players, including seniors Diane Deegan Bittle, Trina Detrich Wetherald, Denise Ditch, Pam Hind Rowland, Judy Shank Reitz, Judy Welty Grier and the late Tresa Rock. Sections of the bleachers were reserved for classmates to cheer on these esteemed athletes, while juniors and sophomores were also acknowledged during the festivities.
