CHAMBERSBURG – Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County has announced an expansion to the staff as the organization continues to grow. Newly hired Alan Lane will focus on top-level administration and strategic planning as executive director. Mark Story, associated with Habitat since 2009 and credited with helping to open the ReStore in 2015, will focus on development and fundraising as director of advancement.

Justin Hoke will continue as operations manager and Les Clugston as the ReStore manager. Justin, Les and Mark have a combined 30 years of history with Habitat.

Board President Doug Hess said, “Mark initiated these changes and came to our board requesting a more specific set of responsibilities that would allow him to work primarily out in the community. Adding Alan to the team right-sizes our affiliate staff for leadership and growth.”

Alan is from the Shippensburg area and has more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience with a background in administration and strategic planning.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County and look forward to working with the team to continue its vital mission,” Lane said. “By partnering with the community, we can empower families and create lasting change through homeownership, helping to ensure everyone has a safe and affordable place to live.”

Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County was formed in 1994, and volunteers have constructed 56 homes in partnership with local families. This helps to achieve Habitat’s vision of “A world where everyone has a decent place to live” and ensures there is adequate affordable housing stock in Franklin County for everyone to live, work, worship and play.
