CHAMBERSBURG – The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter highlights its “Pets of the Week” each week with local news for those seeking a new furry companion. Now CVAS is seeking donations to support its operations.

The shelter’s wish list includes essential items such as both canned and dry puppy and kitten food, adult dog and cat food, dog treats, Nylabones and peanut butter (without Xylitol). Other requested supplies include trash bags, bleach, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent/pods, dish soap, sponges and cat toys. Interested donors can find a more detailed list on the shelter’s Amazon wishlist, which is pinned on the CVAS Facebook page.

The shelter encourages potential pet owners to visit their website at www.cvas-pets.org or contact them at 717-263-5791 for information about available pets and adoption procedures.

CVAS holds a kennel license (#2090) and is committed to providing care for animals in need. The shelter also actively seeks foster parents for kittens during this busy season, offering an opportunity for community members to assist in the nurturing of young animals before they are ready for adoption. For those interested in supporting CVAS or adopting a pet, further details can be obtained by visiting the website or calling the provided number.
