Pickleball enthusiasts gear up for annual Rally in the Valley Tournament

CHAMBERSBURG – The Chambersburg Memorial YMCA is set to host the highly anticipated 3rd Annual Rally in the Valley Pickleball Tournament on Oct. 4-5. This two-day event has become a staple in the local sports calendar, drawing pickleball players from across the region.

Tournament Details

The tournament will take place indoors at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, 570 E. McKinley St. The event kicks off on Friday evening with mixed doubles matches for both over and under 60 age categories. Saturday will feature women’s and men’s doubles competitions, also divided into 60+ and Under 60 categories.

Schedule Breakdown:

  • Friday, Oct. 4: Mixed doubles (check-in at 4 p.m., play begins at 5 p.m.)
  • Saturday, Oct. 5: Women’s doubles (check-in at 7 a.m., play begins at 8 a.m.); men’s doubles (check-in at 9 a.m., play begins at 10 a.m.)

Registration and Fees

The registration fee is $50 per person. Interested participants are encouraged to register promptly, as spots are filling up quickly. The entry deadline is set for Sept. 27, with no refunds available after this date except for extenuating circumstances.

Community Impact

The Rally in the Valley Pickleball Tournament is more than just a sporting event. It serves as a fundraiser to support local businesses through the Chambersburg Chamber. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA. Angela Schaeffer, the event coordinator, emphasized the tournament’s growing popularity and its positive impact on the community.

“This event has quickly become a highlight for pickleball enthusiasts in our area,” Schaeffer said. “It not only promotes healthy competition but also brings people together and supports important local causes,” Schaeffer added.

Pickleball players of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in this tournament, which promises to deliver two days of intense competition, camaraderie and community spirit.
