Two area ceremonies are planned to commemorate 9/11 on Tuesday and Wednesday, each offering their own themes and schedules.
For Washington County, Md., the Office of Emergency Management held its annual “Remembrance In The Park” memorial ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The event was held at 6 p.m. in the agency’s Tribute Gardens, in Hagerstown City Park, 501 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown.
Washington Township – The entire community is invited to attend the commemorative ceremony at the 9/11 Tribute (911tribute.org) in Red Run Park at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, on Route 16 in Waynesboro. Township police and local volunteer fire departments will lay wreaths at the site, and opening and closing remarks, along with a prayer, will be offered.
