Stallions show resilience as season progresses

WAYNESBORO – The Waynesboro Stallions youth football team has kicked off their 2024 season with mixed results after two weeks of play. Here’s an update on their performance so far:

Sunday, Aug. 25:

Waynesboro vs Carlisle
Peewee – 41 – 6 Carlisle
Pony – 36 – 0 Carlisle
Midget – 12 – 0 Waynesboro

Sunday, Sept. 1:

Waynesboro vs New Cumberland
Peewee – 28 – 0 New Cumberland
Pony – 0 – 30 Waynesboro
Midget – 29 – 0 New Cumberland

With six games remaining in the season, the Waynesboro Stallions have ample opportunity to build on their early performances. The team’s goal is to continue developing young athletes while fostering a competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

Remaining Stallions football schedule:

Sept. 8, away at Mechanicsburg

Sept. 15, away at Northern

Sept. 22, at home at Waynesboro High School football field vs West Perry

Oct. 6, at home vs East Pennsboro

Oct. 12, away at Red Land

Oct. 20, Stallions away at Chambersburg

Times for each age group:

Games begin at 10 a.m. with 3-, 4- and 5-year-old flag football and cheer.

Smurf (K-2nd grade) begins at 11 a.m.

Peewee (3rd and 4th grade) begins at 12 p.m.

Midget (7th and 8th grade) begins at 1:30 p.m.

Pony (5th and 6th grade) begins at 3 p.m.

Home games will be played at 13375 Welty Rd., Waynesboro, unless otherwise announced.

Admission is $2 per adult and $1 for students, or $5 per car. Ages 5 and younger are free, as well as coaches and athletes.
