Franklin County trunk or treat date set

CHAMBERSBURG – Several Franklin County departments, local law enforcement agencies and first responders are joining forces to host a free Halloween celebration for area youth.

Franklin County’s annual Trunk or Treat Night will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 at Chambersburg Area Middle School North, 1957 Scotland Ave. Representatives from the Franklin County Adult Probation Department, Franklin County Juvenile Probation, Franklin County Jail, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Coroner, local law enforcement agencies, first responders and other organizations will be on hand for this safe, family friendly trick-or-treat event. Costumes are encouraged.

Public service agencies that would like to participate in this year’s event should email Pam Hartzok at [email protected] by Oct. 18. Non-public service agencies will not be accepted.

The county is also accepting candy donations for distribution during the event. All candy must be sealed and in its original packaging. Donations will be accepted at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, 14 N. Main St., Chambersburg, and the Franklin County Human Services Building, 425 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, until Oct. 28.
