It’s a good time to be a Waynesboro sports fan.
The Indians and Maidens are off to fast starts in three sports, with the football team setting the tone after taking out Gettysburg on Friday to improve to 2-0.
Waynesboro’s girls soccer team currently stands alone at the top of the Mid-Penn Colonial Division standings with a 2-0 mark in the division, while the Maidens volleyball squad is also 2-0 and tied for first place in the division with Greencastle-Antrim.
Cross country season opened last week with Chambersburg hosting the 2.33-mile Enos Yeager Invitational. Top 10 finishers on the boys side include Chambersburg’s Aiden Alleman (12:48), Julian Clark (12:49), Liam Kirkpatrick (12:55), and Kaden Rife (13:07). For the girls, Top 10 times were recorded by Chambersburg’s Mady Koons (15:43), Brook Boone (16:08), and Dana Rosenberry (16:33), as well as Waynesboro’s Morgan Price (16:20).
