WAYNESBORO — Waynesboro Rotarian Larry Pentz regaled club members with tales of humorous incidents that occurred during his 30 years as a magisterial district judge during last week’s meeting.

In his function of officiating preliminary arraignments, Larry encountered everything from a naked person who decided to direct traffic in Rouzerville to another who fainted in court when he heard the amount of his bail.

A surprising number of people, asked to raise their right hand to take the oath before testifying in court, raised their left hand instead. Larry generally let them take the oath anyway.

“I used to cut people a break once in a while if they were honest with me,” he said.
