SHIPPENSBURG — The Uprise Festival, an annual celebration of Christian music and community, is set to return to the Shippensburg Community Fairgrounds Sept. 13-14. The festival, which began in 2004, has grown into an event that attracts thousands of attendees from across the region for music and what festival officials say is an immersive experience for families and individuals.
Uprise Festival 2024 will feature more than 35 renowned Christian artists and bands. Notable performers include Skillet, Switchfoot, Stryper and Tedashii, among others. The festival is known for its diverse musical offerings, spanning genres such as rock, pop, worship and contemporary gospel.
In addition to the music, the festival features a variety of activities designed to engage attendees of all ages. Families can enjoy a dedicated kids’ zone with games, face painting and a petting zoo. Food lovers can indulge in a wide range of festival favorites, including funnel cakes and jerk chicken, from various vendors.
The Uprise Festival is not just about entertainment, festival planners said. It also emphasizes community and faith. The event is structured to foster connections among attendees, encouraging a sense of belonging and shared experience. Spaces for quiet reflection and prayer are available, allowing participants to engage spiritually amid the festivities.
The festival offers one-day general admission or full-event passes, with additional packages available for those seeking a more personalized experience, such as meet-and-greets with artists and seating upgrades. Ticket information is available at https://www.uprisefest.com/tickets.
