FAYETTEVILLE – The American favorite, “A Christmas Carol” will play again at the Majestic Theater in downtown Gettysburg Dec. 6 through 16.

Officials of Totem Pole Playhouse, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, announced the return of the holiday classic, which has used the Majestic as its venue for several years .

This version of the classic was adapted by Wil Love and Carl Schurr and has been a part of Franklin and Adams Counties’ holiday tradition for more than 30 years. This award-winning and heartwarming production of Charles Dickens’ classic will arrive in time for the Gettysburg Christmas Festival and Gettysburg Tuba Fest.

Producing Artistic Director Ryan B. Gibbs will take his first crack at directing this piece, although he has worked on this production before in other roles, Totem Pole officials noted. The rest of the creative team will be announced soon. Tickets will go on sale for subscribers in the coming weeks and for the general public shortly thereafter.

The 74th season at Totem Pole is currently running and opened “Jersey Boys” on Aug. 2. The season will close with a series of concerts entitled “Music in the Pines” Aug. 21-31. Plans for Totem Pole Playhouse’s 75th Anniversary will be announced shortly.

Tickets and subscriptions are on sale now by calling the Totem Pole Playhouse Box Office at (717) 352-2164, open Mondays through Fridays at 10 a.m., open Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.
