Fifteen cars took the starting line. And by the time the dust cleared from Saturday’s 270 Sprints feature at Path Valley Speedway, only four vehicles remained.

It was that kind of night at the quarter-mile in Spring Run. The 270s race lost two drivers right from the start as Hunter Forsythe Jr.’s car left the track and went into the infield before coming to a stop by a pole. Ambulance and track personnel came to his aid, as did his father Hunter Forsythe Sr., who also dropped out of the race.

After the crowd applauded the well-being of the younger Forsythe, action resumed for eight laps, before two more cars were sent to the pits after a tie-up on the fourth turn. Another car fell out of the race on the 11th lap, and two more after that called it quits by the 16th lap.

The Myers brothers — Chambersburg’s Craig Myers and Fayetteville’s Cory Myers — guided the front of the shrinking field through the chaos until one lap remained. That’s when Cory Myers’ car came to a stop on the backstretch, and needed to be pushed to the pits.

Craig Myers held on to secure victory over Dylan Pryor and Stephanie Welk, with Noelle Ebersole coming in as the fourth and final finisher. Thanks to his win, Craig Myers is second in the points standings with 467 points, just behind his brother who leads with 470.

Transtan Stoner put forth a solid effort in the Wingless Super Sportsman feature at Path Valley, with the Greencastle driver moving from the third position to the lead in the early stages of the race. Stoner remained up front until the 16th lap, when he was usurped by Trent Yoder. Stoner kept running strong and held on for the runner-up finish behind Yoder.

Kameron Morral, of Hagerstown, Md., had a big night at Path Valley in the 600 Sprints, driving to a second-place finish after starting the race in ninth.

On Sunday, Hagerstown Speedway hosted a pair of Super Late Models features for the Frank Sagi Tribute, and Greencastle’s Gary Stuhler had to hustle just to make it to the main event. Stuhler finished sixth in his heat race, meaning his only ticket to the feature would be a Top 2 finish in the B Main. Stuhler came through, winning the B Main to earn a spot in the back of the field for the feature. Starting from the 21st spot, Stuhler zipped ahead 12 spots over the 20-lapper to earn a ninth-place finish. Stuhler finished even better in the second feature with an eighth-place showing.

The feared World of Outlaws visited BAPS Motor Speedway on Wednesday, before making the trip to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Saturday. Sprint Car Hall of Famer Lance Dewease, known as the “Fayetteville Flyer,” was on hand to help the Pennsylvania Posse defend their turf. The first two nights didn’t go as planned for Dewease, who missed out on the features after back-to-back fifth-place finishes in the B Main races. Dewease put it all together on the third night, however, and logged an eighth-place finish in the main event.

Also at BAPS, Chambersburg’s Devin Friese took third in the East Coast Legends feature, while Greencastle’s Scott Palmyer took fifth in the Late Models race.

Below is a speedway-by-speedway, feature-by-feature look at how area drivers performed last weekend:
