CHAMBERSBURG- Local education leaders are set to convene for the 2024 Franklin County Education Summit on Wednesday, August 14, at Wilson College. The annual event, organized by the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance (CVBA) and Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation, will focus on critical issues in education and workforce development.

The summit will feature discussions on workforce development, student success, and job readiness, highlighting initiatives in CVBA county schools. Key speakers include Chris Bigger from Chambersburg Area School District, Dr. Lura Hanks from Greencastle-Antrim School District, and Angie Petersheim from Shalom Christian Academy.

This gathering comes as Franklin County schools continue to emphasize educational innovation and community engagement. Earlier this year, the county successfully hosted its 3rd Semi-Annual Parent Summit, demonstrating ongoing efforts to involve families in the educational process.

The Education Summit serves as a platform for educators, business leaders, and community members to exchange ideas and strategies for preparing students for future careers. It aligns with the county’s focus on educational events throughout the year, including those scheduled for May and December 2024.

Admission to the summit is $30 for CVBA members and $35 for non-members. The event, which includes breakfast, aims to foster collaboration between educational institutions and the local business community to enhance student outcomes and meet workforce needs.
