CHAMBERSBURG- GDC announced the addition of Dr. Shane Hotchkiss as the new Director of Education Innovation and Solutions. Previously, Hotchkiss served as Bermudian Springs’ Superintendent from 2011 to 2024. In a single year, Hotchkiss would serve more than 1800 students, their families and the faculty and staff in grades K-12.

Among his many accomplishments, Hotchkiss helped lead The One to World Initiative. This program was designed to provide teachers and students with increased access to technology resources in support of their learning in school and at home. This program transformed classrooms to ensure that the resources are available to support individualized instruction to prepare students with the 21st-century skills needed for a career or post-secondary education. The result of the program fostered student creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking in an environment that allowed for personalized learning.

Hotchkiss says, “I am honored and excited to join the team at GDC. One of my lifelong passions is to help others solve problems so that they can be successful and achieve their potential. GDC embodies that approach and has always taken great pride in exceptional customer service. I’m thrilled to be a part of this team!”

Last September, Hotchkiss was selected as the 2024 Superintendent of the Year recipient, an award by the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA).

Jeff Sauvé, Vice President of State and Local Education says, “We are super excited and humbled that Shane is interested in joining the GDC SLED Team. Shane brings all kinds of experience, knowledge, relationships, and energy to the Team not only in the state of PA but also nationally as we continue to grow our footprint outside of Pennsylvania.”
