CASCADE, Md. – The Fort Ritchie Community Center is set to host a series of health events in July and August, offering free services to local residents.

A Red Cross blood drive will take place on Wednesday, July 31, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The center emphasizes the critical need for blood donations, noting that someone in the U.S. requires blood every two seconds.

On the same day, Miranda Tyler, a massage therapist, will provide chair massages from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants can pay by the minute for 10, 15, or 20-minute sessions. Walk-ins are welcome, but all clients must sign a liability form before receiving service.

Free blood pressure and pre-diabetes screenings will be available on July 30, August 13, and August 27, from 8 a.m. to noon. Lindsay from the Washington County Health Department will conduct these screenings.

The community center will also host Tabitha’s Table Food Pantry on July 23 and August 13. The pantry, based in Smithsburg, Md., will distribute food items until supplies are exhausted. This service typically occurs on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 11 a.m.

These events highlight the Fort Ritchie Community Center’s commitment to promoting health and wellness in the local community. The center, located at 14421 Lake Royer Drive in Cascade, continues to serve as a hub for various community services and programs. For more information about these events or other services, residents can contact the Fort Ritchie Community Center directly.
