CHAMBERSBURG — The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging has announced that its senior activity centers in Chambersburg, Greencastle, and Tuscarora will extend their hours today, Monday, July 15, and tomorrow, Tuesday, July 16, to serve as cooling stations for local residents aged 60 and older. These centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to provide relief from the sweltering heat.

In addition to these three centers, older residents are also welcome to escape the heat at the county’s five other senior activity centers, which will continue to operate under their normal hours. The extended hours are a response to the ongoing heat wave affecting the region.

The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging will continue to monitor weather conditions and make decisions regarding any additional extended hours as soon as possible. For more information on locations and hours of operation, residents can visit the Franklin County website at https://bit.ly/43iK5kw or contact the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging at (717) 263-2153.
