FAYETTEVILLE– Totem Pole Playhouse, Central Pennsylvania’s Premiere summer theatre, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, has begun rehearsal for the laugh-a-minute “whodunit” CLUE: ON STAGE.

Murder and blackmail are on the menu when six mysterious guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget! This production is a ruckus and a faithful adaptation of the 1985 Paramount Picture film CLUE. It will feature a cast of familiar faces and powerhouse talents partnering a creative and design team that represent Totem Pole’s best. The fast-paced murder mystery-comedy based on the famous game by Hasbro will appear for a limited run of 12 performances beginning on June 21.

“With the box office success of last season’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery by Ken Ludwig, we quickly learned our audience is hungry for murder mysteries with a comedic framework. CLUE: ON STAGE could not be a more perfect follow-up for 2024,” shared Ryan B. Gibbs, Totem Pole’s new Producing Artistic Director. Many of the cast of Baskerville are returning to present the cult classic, such as Jeffrey C. Wolf (Wadsworth), Mallory Hawks (Mrs. White), Khalil LeSaldo (Cop/Ensemble), Ralph E. Scott (Professor Plum), and Lance Windish (Mr. Boddy/Ensemble). Rounding out the talented ensemble are Jenny Latimer (Miss Scarlet), Michael Santora (Mr. Green), Becky Grace Kalman (Yvette), Katelyn Shreiner (Cook/Ensemble) and local favorites Taylor Whidden (Mrs. Peacock), and Christpher Justus Kauffman (Colonel Mustard).

Moreover, the same genius from Totem Pole’s 2023 hit Baskerville is helming from the director’s chair again. Totem Pole welcomes back Tim Seib to masterfully bring the fast paced and beloved piece to the stage.  Seib will lead the creative team composed of Jonathan Dahm Robertson (Scenic Designer), Marci Hain (Costume Designer), Isaach Bardach (Prop Designer), Paul Callahan (Lighting Designer), Abby Scott (Sound Designer), and returning Stage Manager Shannon B. Sturgis.

The original film featured performances by an all-star cast of Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Madeline Kahn, Michael McKeon, Martin Mull, Eileen Brennan, and Leslie Ann Warren. It was written and directed by Johnathan Lynn. The On-Stage Adaptation was originally produced at the Bucks County Playhouse and was based on the screenplay by Lynn. Sandy Rustin wrote the adaptation with additional materials by Hunter Foster and Eric Price. It also features original music by Michael Holland.

“This play is a perfect adaptation of the 1985 cult classic movie, this outrageous “whodunit” is a murderously funny night out. Game on! (Rated PG-13),” added Gibbs.

The 74th season at Totem Pole is open and is currently running Pump Boys and Dinettes, a playhouse perennial and fan favorite. Following that, the playhouse will produce Clue: On Stage, Tuesdays with Morrie, and Jersey Boys. The season will close on August 31, with a series of concerts entitled Music in the Pines. Tickets and subscriptions are on sale now by calling the Totem Pole Playhouse Box Office at (717) 352-2164 Mondays through Fridays open at 10 a.m.; Saturdays and Sundays open at 11 a.m.; First Show Fridays open at 3 p.m.
