Last Meeting’s Program (6.18.24 bulletin)An insightful and thought-provoking presentation was presented by Derek Kling of Waynesboro Physical Therapy. Derek reviewed not only his personal, educational, and professional background but also critiqued the health care system of the United States, which according to him, ranks low in the world scale of return on investment. As an outpatient physical therapist in private practice, Derek noted that the advantages of direct access to his services is an efficient health care delivery model but is also under constant pressure from corporate medicine.
Derek’s journey to his present position started at Lebanon Valley College culminating in a doctorate from Shenandoah University. Several years of working with his wife in upstate New York and Australia ultimately landed him in Waynesboro where he has been since 2011. From his very beginnings in the field of physical therapy, Derek has strived to practice a medicine that reduces pain and improves function.
