HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Washington County Division of Emergency Services responded to a mutual aid call in Franklin County, PA for a confined space rescue involving an individual trapped in a grain silo. The incident prompted a swift and coordinated response from multiple fire and rescue units within Washington and Franklin Counties.

The County aided Rescue Hose Company No.1 of Greencastle, PA. Our collaboration ensured a swift and effective rescue operation. The victim was trapped for over 4 hours, but was safely extricated and transported to an area hospital. We are proud of our skilled and courageous responders who worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and rescue of those in need.
