Only one Local.News team — the Chambersburg softball squad — remains in the postseason hunt.
It was a tough week for the Trojans, who went 0-2 in the District 3-6A semifinals and third-place game, but Chambersburg is moving on to states by virtue of its fourth-place finish.
The Trojans (17-5) will certainly be considered the underdogs on Monday, when they travel to face Downingtown West (24-0) in the opening round of the PIAA Class 6A Tournament.
The only other area team remaining in postseason play, the Waynesboro baseball squad, saw its season come to an end last week with a 7-3 loss to Wilson in the District 3-6A third-place game. The Indians conclude their spring with a 15-7 record.
