Rita’s Italian Ice Celebrates Grand Opening in Chambersburg

CHAMBERSBURG- A new Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard location opened its doors with a bang on Saturday, May 18th at 731 Wayne Ave. The highly-anticipated grand opening event drew crowds eager for free treats and festivities.

The celebration kicked off at 3 p.m. when the first 50 guests in line were rewarded with the coveted prize of Free Rita’s Italian Ice for a Year! From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the festive atmosphere continued with photo opportunities alongside Rita’s beloved mascot Ice Guy, a prize wheel, merchandise giveaways, and more delightful surprises.

At 4 p.m., local franchisees Keila and Mark Trace hosted the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially commemorating the opening of Chambersburg’s very own Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard shop. The Traces expressed their excitement to bring the iconic brand’s cool treats to the local community.

In addition to the celebratory fun, the event held a charitable component. The Traces announced that a percentage of the total sales from the grand opening would be donated to the Franklin Fire Company and the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation, demonstrating their commitment to supporting local organizations.

Guests lined up well before the doors opened, eager to be among the first to experience the refreshing Italian ices and rich frozen custards that have made Rita’s a nationwide favorite. The festive ambiance and delicious frozen treats made for a successful grand opening that will be remembered by the Chambersburg community.
