It’s been a big couple of weeks for Franklin County drivers competing at Path Valley Speedway.

Just ask Chambersburg’s Kevin Bard, who recently secured his first win of the season at the Spring Run quarter-mile oval. Competing in the Thunder Cars feature, Bard claimed the victory over Aaron Updegraff and Jeremy Ott.

Cole Dewease, of Fayetteville, has also been running fast in recent weeks, with the 600 Sprints driver posting third-place finishes in back-to-back starts at Path Valley. Greencastle’s Bradyn Kuhn also continues to be a portrait of consistency, as he built his lead in the 270 Sprints points standings with fifth- and third-place finishes over his last two starts.

The Limited Late Models feature at Path Valley on April 13 saw DJ Myers, of Greencastle, finish third in the Limited Late Models feature behind Shyann Smith and Jake Moser.

Rowe, Ecton Sr. compete at Hagerstown

Alyssa Rowe took on the UMP Modified feature at Hagerstown Speedway on April 13, and drove to a Top 10 finish in the feature. The Chambersburg driver finished ninth in a race that was won by Gregory Moore of Defiance.

Another Local.News area driver, Will Ecton Sr. of Greencastle, posted a 10th-place finish in the Pure Stocks race, which was won by Evan Foust of Knoxville, Md.

Other winners from Hagerstown’s April 13 program include Walter Crouch, of Remington, Va., who won the Semi Late Models feature, and Hanover’s Steve Cantwell, who conquered the Classic Cars feature.

Winners from Hagerstown’s April 20 program include Jerald Harris, of Rockingham, Va., who won the IMCA Racesaver Sprint, Chalk Hill’s Mason Zeigler (UMP Modified), Hagerstown’s Keith Reed (Pure Stocks), and Kyle Lear of Severna Park, Md., who won the Late Model Sportsman race.

Back-to-back weeks of Top 10 finishes for Lance Dewease

The “Fayetteville Flyer” posted a pair of Top 10 finishes in as many weeks.

Lance Dewease, of Fayetteville, ventured out to BAPS Motor Speedway two weeks ago for a 410 sprints feature and landed in eighth place. Then, last weekend, the Sprint Car Hall of Famer posted a fifth-place finish at Port Royal Speedway.

Dewease, 58, racked up four wins in 2023, and is still seeking his first win of the 2024 season.
