The Waynesboro Area Senior High School hosted a solar eclipse viewing party on April 8, which was attended by over 1,300 people. The event was organized by The Institute of Waynesboro, the Waynesboro Area School District, and NASA, and featured activities like making solar viewing masks and bracelets, as well as using a Sunspotter to sketch the eclipse. Attendees were encouraged to download the NASA GLOBE Observer App to contribute data for further research. The school district superintendent reported over 340 families pre-registered for the event, with more than 40 staff volunteering to assist.
