WAYNESBORO- Waynesboro Area Senior High School (WASHS) has introduced a new dual enrollment course in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh – Intro to Human Nutrition. Mrs. Kipe, a dedicated member of the Family Consumer Science Department, has undergone the necessary training to teach this course at WASHS, providing students with the opportunity to earn 3 University of Pittsburgh credits at a reduced cost. Recent lab activities focused on the Digestive System involved students using yarn to visualize the scale of the human digestive system and household materials to simulate food movement through various organs. This course is open to 11th and 12th-grade students; those interested are encouraged to consult their counselor for further information.
