Rita Sterner-Hine gave her Classification Talk. Rita serves as the Superintendent of Waynesboro Area School District. Born in Waynesboro, her father’s employment required a relocation to Milwaukee. They later returned to the area and settled in Greencastle, where she attended school and graduated. Rita then matriculated to Shippensburg University and majored in public administration. However, she decided education was her calling and secured her teaching certificate. Rita taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies at WAMS then moved into administration. She was Assistant Principal at Sr. High, became principal at Hooverville then Summitville. She was named Assistant District Superintendent in 2017 and was appointed Superintendent following Todd Cline’s 2022 retirement.
