Resurfacing Project on Route 97 in Adams County Scheduled to Begin

HARRISBURG- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a resurfacing project on Route 97 in Littlestown Borough and Germany Township, Adams County, is scheduled to begin soon.

Weather permitting, this project will begin Monday, March 4. Work will be performed during daylight hours. There will be lane restrictions with flaggers providing traffic control. No restrictions will be in place during the morning and afternoon commutes or during major holidays.

This project consists of paving, base repair, guiderail replacement, drainage replacement, ADA ramps, signs, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction on Route 97 from the Maryland state line in Germany Township to Route 194 (King Street) in Littlestown Borough.

Also included in this project is the replacement of the box culvert on Route 97 between Mathias Road and Georgetown Road at the Maryland state line in Germany Township. The start of this phase of the project has not been set. An updated press release will be issued when this work has been scheduled.

JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor on this $2,737,247 project.
