Winter Showcase To Feature Classical & Original Choreography

CHAMBERSBURG- The Chambersburg Ballet presents its Winter Showcase dance performances on Friday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre’s Wood Center, 159 S. Main St., Chambersburg. The Wood Center, Chambersburg’s only black-box performance space, is an intimate and appropriate setting for this production which features variations from “Les Sylphides”, plus World Premiere choreography by Artistic Director Brian Grant, and Artistic Staff Alcinda Burchill and Sarah Voight. Brian Grant will be making his performance debut alongside the ballet’s company dancers. Winter Showcase is a great introduction to classical ballet and contemporary dance for those who are new to the artform. Each performance is one hour long and is a great date night option. The Capitol Theatre will be selling beer, wine and a signature cocktail for the event starting at 6 p.m. Tickets for the Winter Showcase are $15 for Adults, $12 for Students age 6-college, and $8 for Children age 5 & under. Chambersburg Ballet Invites Community to Drop-In at IceFest on the Main Stage at The Capitol Theatre 

The community is invited to drop-in and observe as Chambersburg Ballet students and company dancers take classes and rehearse for an upcoming performance during IceFest on Saturday, January. 28th on the main stage in the Capitol Theatre. See schedule below

  • 10-11:30 a.m.: Curious about what a classical ballet class looks like? Quietly observe our dancers as they plié (bend), relevé (rise), and sauté (jump) at a ballet class on the main stage inside the Capitol Theatre.
  • 11:30 a.m.- Noon: Learn about the Chambersburg Ballet with a Q&A with Brian Grant, Chambersburg Ballet’s Artistic Director, on the main stage inside the Capitol Theatre.
  • Noon – 2 p.m.: Get a sneak peek of the Chambersburg Ballet’s upcoming Winter Showcase which features variations from the classical ballet Les Sylphides, and original choreography by our Artistic staff by quietly observing a rehearsal on the main stage inside the Capitol Theatre.

The Chambersburg Ballet was established in 1999 and provides classical ballet education, training and performance art in Franklin County and is located inside the historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Chambersburg.
