GREENCASTLE- The Greencastle Volunteer Fire Department has reported that its emergency medical services (EMS) responses for 2023 remained consistent with pre-COVID levels, while fire and rescue assets saw a slight increase.

The department continues to offer primary coverage to the municipalities of Antrim Township and the Borough of Greencastle, in addition to providing assistance to neighboring departments through automatic and mutual aid.

In 2023, the department responded to 1,792 EMS calls, with over 90% of these responses being to Greencastle and Antrim Township. Furthermore, their fire and rescue apparatus responded to 701 calls, with a majority of the calls being in their primary coverage areas.

The department expressed gratitude to the community and municipal partners for their support and encouraged the public to consider various forms of support, such as becoming an Ambulance Club member, making donations, participating in fundraisers, or getting involved with the department
