HARRISBURG- Former President Donald Trump is set to be the keynote speaker at the National Rifle Association’s Presidential Forum on Friday, Feb. 9, in Harrisburg. The event is for “pro-Second Amendment” candidates, and it marks Trump’s first scheduled visit of the year to Pennsylvania, a state where he is expected to make frequent campaign stops as he did in his previous presidential campaigns in 2016 and 2020.
The Presidential Forum is part of the NRA’s Great American Outdoor Show, a nine-day expo celebrating hunting, fishing, and outdoor traditions, which typically draws around 200,000 attendees. Trump’s appearance at the event will be his eighth time addressing NRA members, and it is seen as a testament to his ongoing commitment to Second Amendment rights.
The event is significant in the context of the 2024 presidential election, as Pennsylvania is considered a key swing state, and both Trump and President Joe Biden have been giving heavy attention to the state as they look ahead to the November general election.
